My Beautiful Backyard

I recently moved back to Tennessee and I have been missing Alabama. There is not a lot to do here in the boondocks on most days. One thing about this great state though is the beautiful land and scenes. It is a shame not to be out shooting every day but I hadn't had the opportunity. I felt I was losing touch with myself and my camera. So, I had to make time to get out. This didn't take much effort but it did me a world of good just to step out my back door with two adorable subjects.

Reflecting Tonight

I have been sitting here tonight thinking back on the airport shoot. Thinking about how life doesn't always go as we plan. The shoot had it's problems, the battery didn't have enough power to run our lights, we would have had them too hot too fast if it did. Even though, it turned out to be a great shoot with some great people. Sonny, our model, was wonderful to work with and I hope we did her beauty justice.

So, I haven't kept on my blog like I should have but I have had some awesome shoots with the Studio class that I will be sharing over the next few weeks. We have had some beautiful models that were nice enough to let us dress them up, pose them, and take great images. And here are the first of the photos I would like to share.

Henna For A Day

Today, in class we had guests. Michelle Liquori Ross and Doneen Bean Liquori-Martin Who are both fabulous ladies. Michelle is an awesome artist that created some wonderful henna pieces for us. Doneen modeled the piece she got on Friday. I enjoyed having them join us for class and appreciate the time and effort they showed our class.

Today's Shoot

Today in class we attempted Hollywood style photos. I didn't shoot a lot with the lights. We only have three pocket wizards in the studio and there are eight of us so we have to share. That leaves us limited as to how long we can each shoot with the strobes. Anyway I got a few without the strobes that turned out pretty good. I took three and did some edits to them. One of Sarah and the other two of Lana our instructor. Don't know which of the two of Lana I prefer. Let me know what you think. You may not even like any of them.     until I return

30 Day Challenge

In studio class today, technically yesterday since it is 1:30 in the morning, we went to the lab. We were given an image that was not very appealing and told to open it in photoshop and edit it to make it pretty. Lol So everyone explored but I do not know that anyone who has never worked with photoshop learned anything.
As well as playing with photoshop we were given a 30 day challenge that I suppose I will start today. The first photo on the list is self portrait. This is going to be a hard one for me. I am not one for having my photo taken, in fact I hate it. So I am trying to come up with a creative way to portray myself without actually taking my photo. Well I will be glad to have the hardest one out of the way.
Since we didn't take any photos in class and I didn't keep my PS work, I am going to post an older photo that was taken and used by Calhoun Community College for a fundraiser.    until I return
